“Breaking Cover” by Henry T Alken
Early 20th century aquatint of an English hunting etching by Henry T Alken (1785 – 1851) in a Regency antiqued giltwood frame and thick black satin mat with a bevel-cut gilded edge. “Breaking Cover” is part of an 1824 series of etchings by Alken who was a prolific artist reknown for hunting prints in the early 1800s. The artwork inside the margins measures 21″L by 4.5″H.
