Regency-period spoon-back chair, circa 1825. Made of ebonized mahogany with gilt painting, the back is shaped in a Gothic arch with pierced central quatrefoil curving to form armrests. The sabre legs have the original brass casters. The unique paintwork shows signs of restoration and boasts key fret on the arms, the splat decorated with a Hellenic mask, and a pair of olive fronds. It is in very good antique condition with wear consistent with age. Seat, 15″H.
